Description
Consistent one- and two-dimensional theories are derived from the three-dimensional linear theory of elasticity by the combination of the consistent-approximation method with the pseudo-reduction technique. Well-known and higher-order differential equations are obtained for structural components like plates and beams by using neither apriori assumptions nor (engineering-motivated) correction factors.
