The self-heating of rubber is a less understood topic with only a few publications in the scientific area. Vibration absorber systems are constructed to avoid the movement of machines, vehicles and other devices. If vibration absorbers include rubber elements the vibration energy can be transferred into heat by the dissipation of the material. This publication concentrates on the self-heating of rubber by the congruence of measurement and numerical calculation of the inner heating in the rubber element. Here the material is simulated with respect of an inner punctual energy source. During the eigenfrequency of the basic system the rubber mounting between shaker test rig and basis is heated in a high level without the use of the absorber. Because the vibration amplitude of the system is on a large value. With the same performance of the shaker test rig and in addition with the use of the rubber including absorber the self-heating of the rubber mounting on the basis reduces on a low level. This is the proof of the functionality of the absorber. The main focus of the publication is the comparison of the temperature measurements of the rubber parts with the numerical calculation. This simulation concentrates on the difference method and shows a good congruence with the measurements. Concluding it can be mentioned that this publication is a special attempt to investigate the self-heating of rubber elements to increase knowledge of this topic in the scientific area.
