Fritz Noether, Emmy Noether's younger brother, was a German mathematician who contributed in particular to the development of a new scientific discipline, applied mathematics. He worked as a professor at the Technische Hochschule Breslau and the State University of Tomsk, which brought him into conflict with two dictatorships.
