Description
We analyze the robustness of optimal control problems with respect to spatially localized perturbations. We prove that, if the involved dynamic or stationary constraint satisfies a domain-uniform stabilizability and detectability assumption, then these localized perturbations only have a local effect on the optimal solution, even if the (uncontrolled) state equation gives rise to global transport. We provide various applications of the theory to stationary Helmholtz-type problems or dynamic equations such as advection-diffusion-reaction and transport equations.
