Description

According to a survey conducted by the World Health Organization (WHO), about 80% of children and adolescents in the world spend less than 1 hour per day on moderate to high intensity physical activity. It is urgent to improve this situation in all aspects. In this paper, methods of literature analysis and logic analysis were used to explore the internal relationship between the construction of the family sport space (including physical environment and symbolic forms of capital) and the physical activity promotion of children and adolescents according to Bourdieu’s field theory. Based on this, practical path selection was proposed to improve the physical activity of children and adolescents from the perspective of family sports. According to the results, (1) In the context of the decline of children's physical health in the post-pandemic period, it is inevitable that children and adolescents' physical activity promotion should be embedded in the family sport space; (2) In the context of family sport space, its location will indicate the importance of promoting sports participation of children and adolescents through family sports; (3) Family members' sports habitus and the family’s sport-related "capital" will determine the physical activity practices of children and adolescents in the family sports arena. In conclusion, it is recommended that (1) the government and society should give more priority to the construction of family sport spaces; (2) a multi-field interactive social network governance structure is created to serve family sports; (3) efforts be made to enhance the value of sports for family members.
